Information Sheet for
13-night Holyland Cruise on Oct. 5, 2010
May 5, 2010
In an attempt to
answer some of your questions with regard to the Holyland trip, I am listing
some of the details of the trip. First,
let me say that I will be escorting this trip along with another agent. My itinerary includes flying out of Portland, Or. on Saturday,
Oct. 2 and staying at the Crown Plaza St. Peters which is where everyone will
be booked whether you are doing the pre-cruise 2-night option or the 1-night
option.
Insurance – The price of your cruise includes Travel Protection
Insurance and coverage such as trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel
delay, missed connection, medical or dental expense and emergency medical
transportation. Our price covers only
the cruise portion. If you would like
travel protection for your airfare, it will be an additional $50/per person.
Airfare – Celebrity Cruises has an Air
Department where you can put in your reservation number and get a quote for
your air. It is listed on their website
at www.celebrity.com and it is under
“choice air”. For the return air from Rome, please do not book
your air before
10:00 am on Oct.
18.
Optional Land Packages – We are offering a pre-cruise 2-night
land package in Rome
for the nights of Oct. 3 & 4 that includes 2 nights at the Crown Plaza St.
Peters, your choice of 2 sightseeing tours that are listed on our “Preference
Sheet”, and transfers from the hotel to the cruise terminal and from the ship
on Oct. 18 to the airport. That is priced at $598/pp.
We are also offering a 1-night hotel package
on Oct. 4 and transfers as listed above for $298/pp. If you will be flying out of Rome
on Oct. 19 instead of Oct. 18, a number of us will be staying at the Courtyard
by Marriott at the Rome
Airport.
Dining – Our group is currently signed up for
“Celebrity Select Dining” which allows you to be seated anytime in the Main
Dining Room for dinner. You have the
option of making dinner reservations for each night of your cruise ahead of
time or once onboard with the Maitre’d.
Prepaid gratuities of $136.50/pp (includes all gratuities including
cabin steward) will be required when choosing this option and will be included
in your final payment in July.
Transfers – The transfers included in our optional
packages are only for the transfers from our hotel in Rome to the cruise terminal and from the
cruise terminal to the airport. The
packages do not include the transfer from the Rome Airport
to the Hotel since everyone is arriving on different airlines and at different
times. I will be sending information on
transfers from the airport to hotel in the future.
Stay in Rome – Optional 2-day Package – You will be
departing from the U.S. on
Saturday, Oct. 2, arriving in Rome
on Sunday, Oct. 3. After you arrive in Rome and check-in at the
Crown Plaza St. Peters, the rest of the day is at
leisure. I suggest that you do not go to
bed which will prolong any jet lag that you are experiencing. If you would like to see Rome, I suggest you do the Hop-on/Hop-Off bus
that is offered. The cost is $32/pp for
48 hours. Also, you might want to have
an early dinner and go to bed early so that you can get a good night’s sleep
and be refreshed the next morning. On
Monday, Oct. 4, all the people who have signed up for the Vatican Museum
and Sistine Chapel will be doing that tour in the morning around 9:15 am. The Appian Way/Catacombs Tour will be
scheduled for the afternoon, unless you are doing the “Rome by Night” tour. The evening is at leisure as well as the next
morning, Oct. 5, when our motor coach will pick us up at the hotel and
transport us to the cruise terminal sometime around noon.
