Drive through the Turkish countryside to the House of the Virgin Mary where she is reputed to have spent the last years of her life. Experience the powerful City of Ancient Ephesus and the Grand Theater, where St. Paul preached, which is the largest theater in antiquity. See the Fountain of Trajan along with the temple of Hadrian and the impressive library of Celsius. Ephesus was one of 12 ancient cities that formed the Greek region of Ionia and dates back as far as 5000BC. The city was famous for its temples and shrines, particularly that dedicated to Artemis (ancient Cybele), which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Set out along the route that Jesus may have walked during his ministry beginning with a visit to Nazareth and St. Mary’s Well. Then we’re off to the Sea of Galilee, where much of the ministry of Jesus occurred. First is Tabagha, the site of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves & fishes. Next is Capernaum, the home of many of the apostles. We will also visit the Mount of Beatitudes, which is the famous hill where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Gaze in awe at the Bahai Temple and its breathtaking gardens, which sprawl from the top of Mt. Carmel into its foothills.

We will visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth, plus the Church of the Nativity on Manger Square. Visit Mount Zion, the Mount of Olives, the site of many Biblical events. Also, the Gardens of Gethsemane. Embark on the Way of the Cross (the Via Dolorosa) in the city of Jerusalem. Next the Church of the Holy Sepulchre within the City walls. The church sits on the former location where, according to the new testament, Jesus was crucified.



Alexandria, Egypt - Day 1 ( $ 119 )

Begin with a drive through the colorful streets of Alexandria. View the unique architecture and experience the charming nostalgia of yesteryear. In Mansheya Square, see the bronze statue of Mohamed Ali, founder of modern Egypt. Just a few steps away is the marble edifice dedicated to the Unknown Soldier with guards of honor at attention on either side. Visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqfa, an extensive three level funerary complex dating from the second century A.D. Afterwards, stop for photos at the Qait Bey Fort built on the original site of the Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Continue to the nearby Mosque of Abu El Abbas, one of Alexandria's Islamic landmarks.



Alexandria, Egypt - Day 2 ( $ 149 )

2.5-hour drive towards Africa's largest city, Cairo. Upon reaching the outskirts of Cairo, travel southwards to Egypt's first capital, Memphis. Explore the ruins of the Temple of Ptah and see the fallen colossal statue of King Ramses the second and the Alabaster Sphinx of King Amenhopis the second. A short drive from Memphis is the oldest, ancient cemetery of Sakkara. View the world's first monumental stone building, the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, built by the famous engineer Imhotep. After visiting the complex continue to one of the Mastabas(funeral chambers) built nearby, for an inside visit.
Return to Cairo where lunch will be served in a local hotel before proceeding to the Giza Plateau to discover the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza. Stop at the Western Plateau for a unique view of the three Pyramids, which affords great photographic opportunities. Continue to the Pyramid of Chephren for some free time to enjoy the pyramids on your own. Next, travel down the valley to visit the guardian of the mortuary complex, the mysterious Sphinx. Finally, a stop will be at the Papyrus Institute to see demonstrations on how the ancient Egyptians made paper from reeds from the Nile. Spend some free time for souvenir shopping in the adjacent gift shop before the return drive to Alexandria.



OVERNIGHT Alexandria - Cairo, Egypt ( $ 350 )

From Alexandria travel along the desert road to Cairo. On arrival proceed for visiting the Citadel of Saladin, where panoramic views of the city of Cairo can be seen. Here you will also visit the spectacular Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the founder of modern Egypt. Your next stop will be at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where over 120,000 objects in its 107 halls - including the treasures of Tutankhamen (King Tut) - are exhibited. Overnight in a leading hotel in Cairo. In the morning continue to explore Egypt before returning to the ship in Alexandria.



Sicily (Messina), Italy ( $ 109 )

We will go to Taormina, located high on a mountaintop above the harbor where you will get fantastic views of the sea and nearby Mt. Etna. Visit the Teatro Greco, the theater that was built by the Romans in the 3rd century. There is much to see as we continue on to Castelmola which is know for its famous almond wine.



Naples (Capri), Italy ( $ 109 )

To one side of Naples is Mount Vesuvius and nearby to the bay are the pretty islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida, which can all be easily reached and are well worth visiting. Pompeii and Herculaneum are full of some of the most interesting and revealing Roman ruins in Italy. Close to Pompeii and a short boat ride to the must-see Isle of Capri, this quaint city will no doubt leave you wanting to return.
